Emic is an urban artist based in Belfast. His Artworks feature photorealism combined with abstraction and are painted on a range of materials from metal to canvas. He has been commissioned to paint large-scale murals across the UK and Ireland with clients such as Queens University, Dublin City Council and Belfast City Council.
In 2015 he was awarded the Visual Artists Ireland DAS residency, a nationwide competition for Visual Artists.
The Artist’s work is regularly featured on international Street Art blogs, social media and traditional media including ArteTV and National Geographic.
Emic explores human identity and our connection to the contrasting worlds of the ma- made and the natural. The Artwork presents themes of chaos, tranquillity, technology and abandonment. Emic wants us to consider the delicate nature of the human condition, the result of the world we are in and the world we have created.
